Just got an email from Nike.com about the #YOUMOVEIMOVE relief efforts that they are holding for the benefit of the people of Tacloban and Eastern Visayas that were affected by the super typhoon Yolanda. According to Nike, they will be donating USD1 for every kilometer that you run. To do that you must use the Nike+ app which is available for both Android smartphones and iPhone.
Before doing your run, make sure that you fire up the Nike+ app. This will record your run and as soon as you’re done, sync with to the Nike+.com website. Access your account dashboard and look for the run entry. From there you can see a text box where you can put in the hashtag #YOUMOVEIMOVE. From there, Nike+ will take care of the rest.
The relief program started yesterday and will continue until Nike says they have raised 50,000 kms from Nike+ members worldwide.
If you’re training for the Nike We Run Manila 10K 2013, now is the best time to download the Nike+ app and start using it as you do your running training. And come race day, that’s a sure USD10 donation from Nike+ courtesy of your running efforts.
Sounds good, right?
Incidentally, if you’re running the Nike We Run Manila 10K 2013, you should be heading to the Bonifacio High Street as early as now. Race kit will be distributed to registered participants from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. (1764)
